Atividades
Regulatory compliance and company policy oversight
- Ensure that corporate policies and practices are applied in accordance with global procedures and local legal requirements, including permits and licenses.
- Utilize regulatory watch software/tool to assure all applicable regulatory compliance items are implemented and adhered to.
- Standardize HSE procedures and practices in LATAM.
- Participates, coordinates, and supports internal quality audits and external regulatory bodies and services (i.e. insurance assessment).
- Manage product and facility changes and ensure that all information complies with safety, health and environmental requirements, global standards and local legislation and standards.
- Supports and provides input into Business continuity planning for critical operations (i.e., employee safety and welfare, product safety, etc.).
- Supports company sustainability initiatives and projects aimed at minimizing environmental impacts: e.g. carbon, water, electricity, etc.
Occupational Health and Medicine:
- Ensure that all occupational exposures have been identified, monitoring and controlling exposure points. Reduce exposure to highly toxic and corrosive products.
- Manage Health Examination Campaigns and provide support for human resources with the occupational medicine supplier.
- Managing medical reports (specifically disease) in the event of an accident.
- Managing Occupational Hygiene Assessments in the LTCAT [Brazil only].
- Manage HSE information in the employee PPP [Brazil only].
Leadership, Continuous Improvement, and KPI’s
- The position must focus on results, employees, customers, and compliance requirements with an understanding of the business, thinking and acting strategically to anticipate customer needs.
- Lead with a customer service/collaborative mindset for both internal and external customers.
- Recognize and make decisions quickly and get results from others in different cultures, contexts and different teams.
- Coordinate and train teams to meet HSE requirements. Including direct/in-direct reports, internal departments, process teams, etc. Lead and promote a culture of HSE for all employees and third parties to incorporate the values in HSE.
- Establish and drive to meet or exceed health, safety, and environmental KPIs.
- Strategic in the execution of: HSE Standards; loss prevention (trends); incident/injury reduction; and managing HSE crises.
EEM LATAM
- Oversees and supports their hub HSE programs, including developing the local assessment schedule.
- Performs HSE reviews (questionnaires and on-site assessments); assisting the hub with managing major and critical observations to closure.
- Provide responsible HSE product risk management/assessment in technical transfers and new contract/due diligence external partner (EP) selection; and resolving product-related HSE issues with EPs.
- Assess and provide artwork approval; dangerous goods support (verification of labels); and coordinating new or revised SDS’s (using Veeva quality control tool).
AFFILIATES LATAM
- Provide ongoing support to LATAM Commercial Offices and helps implement HSE programs and policies (outlined in company HSE-STD-700).
- Responsible for developing, maintaining, oversight of LATAM applicable affiliate sites written HSE Management System.
- Facilitates Affiliate HSE Management System Gap Assessment conducted periodically Global HSE audit team.
- Conducts and/or coordinates (with site HSE rep and Americas HSE Lead Advisor/Director) site specific documented risk assessments.
- Institute a process for conducting proactive ergonomic assessments for fixed, remote, flexible and teleworkers. Monitor self and in-person assessment completion and corrective actions.
- Develop and implement an emergency management and security plan for office and field force personnel.
Requisitos
- Professional with a degree in Health, Safety, & Environment, Environmental Engineering, Safety Engineer, Occupational Safety Engineering, Biological Sciences, and related areas.
- Advanced English and Portuguese (required) both written and verbal. Intermediate Spanish (nice to have).
- 7 or more years experience in HSE, of which at tleast 4 years experience is in manufacturing.
- Experience in team management, KPI management, knowledge of quality tools, cost management, environmental licensing and familiarity with Environmental Sustainability, Health & Safety issues.
- Expert or highly skilled in HSE assessments/auditing and application of federal and local HSE regulations.
- Experience with Pharmaceutical Supply Chain Initiative (PSCI) Principles and assessment tools is a plus.
