Responsibilities
- Prepare laboratory-scale liquid and solid formulations
- New formulation development and evaluation, including SL, EC, SC, WDG, and OD formulation types with company products
- Act as lead on stability, efficacy, and trials associated with formulations
- Plan and conduct experiments in the lab, making suggestions for improvement and troubleshooting
- Maintain laboratory productivity, identify peak and slack periods, and set up priorities with Agchem R&D Manager
- Maintain professional and technical knowledge by attending industry conventions, reviewing professional agricultural publications, and establishing a network
- Provide technical service supporting sales marketing and customer visits
- Perform application studies, create sales tools, and answer customer queries via phone or email
- Participate in new product development teams and active involvement in Agchem R&D Innovation Projects
- Prepare technical presentations for internal and external customers at customer sites, scientific conferences, and trade shows
Qualifications
- Minimum BS Degree in Chemistry, Crop Sciences, Biology or related field with 3-5 years experience
- Agriculture formulation laboratory experience is essential
- Strong, effective oral communication skills to be able to present ideas, experiments, and results, including technical information
- Strong written skills and basic knowledge of scientific writing for use in external and internal technical report writing
- Strong organization and planning skills and experience in planning daily work
- Track record of delivering quality results to meet tight timelines
- Experience working independently, i.e., to take a project from the idea stage to scale-up
- A team player who can cooperate and collaborate with a diverse group by helping, sharing ideas, working together, and assisting when others need help
- Strong interest in continuing to learn and develop
- Experience in quickly learning new, unfamiliar materials and techniques
- Must have a working knowledge of manufacturing techniques and capabilities
- Work with the manufacturing group to optimize the manufacturing process for new formulations
Preferred Qualifications
- MS in Chemistry, Crop Sciences, Biology or related field with 2-3 years experience is preferred
- Experience with formulation equipment and general analytical equipment in developing Ag formulations with knowledge of pesticide formulations and EPA/PMRA/REACH requirements
In addition, candidates must b fluent in English and Spanish, eligible to work in São Paulo or Cabreúva and be willing and able to travel up to 30% travel time (Latin America and US)
