Responsiblities

• Facilitate a no-harm safety culture guided by human performance principles and operational learning.
• Facilitate compliance with relevant regulatory requirements in Brasil (federal, provincial, state, local).
• Facilitate HSE governance continual improvement through the development and execution of multi-year HSE strategy and tactical plan.
• Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with customers.
• Establish and maintain collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders in Quality, Construction, Sales, Technical Services and Transport.
• Lead, develop and mentor a team of geographically dispersed HSE field specialists and professionals.
• Track and trend hazards and incidents to facilitate continual improvement of HSE governance.
• Facilitate ISO 14001, ISO 45001 and ISO 9001 standard certifications including external auditing and management system deployment and continual improvement.
• Facilitate execution of internal auditing and other assurance programs.
• Facilitate operational learning of incidents (including near misses, releases, and losses) and corrective/preventive action processes.
• Maintain current knowledge of HSE industry best practices and technological developments and equipment to remain up to date on related systems, devices and techniques designed to eliminate or minimize associated risks.
• Provide support and oversight to safety training programs. Training may include strategies and goals to develop/improve safety culture, HSE technical programs/policies, injury trend data, HSE/regulatory information pertinent to the jurisdiction, workers’ compensation/injury case management, and basic knowledge related to safe operation of Wind Turbines, etc.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s or Associates degree with a minimum of five to eight years’ work experience in General Industry, Oil and Gas, Energy or Construction environmental, health, and safety preferred.
• Experience in applying international HSE standards (ISO 14001, ISO 9001 and ISO 45001) across business units and geographies.
• Experience with cranes, lifting and rigging, safety management systems, control of hazardous energy, confined space requirements, work at heights and soft tissue injury prevention.
• Ability to mentor/coach as technical expert and influence service organization managers and leaders.
• Simplicity – will be required to interpret regulations and company policy and deliver meaningful reasoning and education in support of regulations, along with the creation of regional specific campaigns that support ownership of HSE by everyone.
• Collaboration – Ability to work with multiple levels of the organization including front line workforce, managers, directors, and support departments towards creating a No Harm Safety Culture.

• Working knowledge of cross-functional HSE disciplines
• Ability to demonstrate managerial courage (e.g., managing varied interests representing potential conflicts in a remote setting).
• Computer skills necessary include Microsoft Office Suite and basic skills in SAP.
• Ability to audit, maintain global and local standards, basic knowledge of manufacturing and system function, product knowledge, risk assessment processes, risk management, root cause analysis, continuous improvement, customer satisfaction, be diplomatic, take initiative, demonstrate and foster leadership.
