Responsabilities

  • Leads the global and regional Seed and Soil Health category actions in technical assessment of new opportunities, including new Life Cycle Management opportunities and due diligence activities.
  • Ensures proper assessment of proposed value propositions vs. available information, identification of key data gaps, impact of and comparison to the competitive products and technologies in the existing marketplace.
  • Establish technical development strategy, field trial programs and master protocols to assess new LCM opportunities, advance approved regional / global New Technology and LCM projects to commercialization, develop market support data and address product performance issues.
  • Ensures that the global Seed and Soil Health category strategy, global development efforts and projects are accurately and efficiently aligned with the regional category teams.
  • Remain current on emerging Seed and Soil Health’s technologies & agricultural market trends and grower “Pain Points”. Educate the organization on emerging opportunities and unmet needs.
  • Collaborates effectively with the New Ag Technologies R&D, Formulations, Regulatory, Global Marketing functional units and externally with universities, extension services and governmental research services.
  • Provides clear technical positioning of existing Seed and Soil Health’s products and combined portfolio within the company. This includes integrated resistance strategy, rotational chemistry, and the future of product pipeline.
  • Ensure that the Seed and Soil Health Category Teams have clear technical direction within the organization for Global and Regional support.
  • Ensure complete technology transfer at the time of product launch for globally managed products. Ensure that all the Seed and Soil Health Category Teams have the necessary technical information to make sound business decisions.
  • Process/ Operation:
  • Ensures that the global Seed and Soil Health development programs are properly led and managed according to corporate project management principals and processes. While regions are not directly reporting to the incumbent, will provide a leadership role for the technical development of Seed and Soil Health solutions within the company.
  • Ensures that all  internal resources are utilized to a maximum through proper communication and trial planning with the network of company’s Agricultural Development and Research Stations.
  • In accordance with company guidelines develop and monitor development plans and budgets for all key Seed and Soil Health projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budgets.
  • Ensure together with  IP department that  Intellectual property is protected and supported, including, but not limited to, development of testing agreements, invention disclosures and support of patent filings and prosecution. Individual/ Team:
  • Lead the Global Portfolio Strategy from a technical perspective. Attend all Category Team Meetings to provide guidance on product performance and recommendations for improvement.
  • Identifies opportunities to create synergies across BUs by sharing technical information and by identifying and communicating best practices and new opportunities across business units.
  • Provides technical support and training where needed with specific focus on how to maximize the value in the portfolio.

Qualifications

  • Overall, 10+ years of combined professional experience in Product Development, Field Research and Technical Project Management.
  • Master of Science or PhD in Agronomy or Agriculture Sciences (or equivalent).
  • Technical expertise in new product ideation and product development of Seed and Soil Health products with global scope.
  • Strong understanding of the Agrochemical Industry and Crop Sciences.
  • Proven success in leadership and project management.
  • Experience working on a regional/global, cross-functional team, demonstrated excellence in project management and field development, and cross-cultural communication is essential.
  • Experience in agricultural chemical product development, research and/or marketing is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge of high-level statistics, experimental design, and data analysis & interpretation. Technical knowledge of global agricultural markets and GAP validation for agricultural solutions.
  • Experience with trial management software such as ARM is essential.
