Key responsibilities include but are not limited to

• Lead and maintain a high performing regional application team providing output of consistent high technical quality that meets customer needs.
• Collaborate with the Global Application Manager and Regional Industry Leader to develop, update and execute the regional application development strategy and align with the global business and application development strategies.
• Propose and drive development of additional application competencies required to support short-term and strategic Animal Nutrition & Health business goals.
• Build relationships with key internal stakeholders and customers to define technical development objectives.
• Ensure that department safety, health and environmental procedures are followed.
• Responsible for lab capex program.
• Has functional responsibility for technical support to the customer in the application of products, processing techniques, and resolution of problems.
• Participates in the commercialization of new technologies and services.
• Provides support related to anticipating and assessing the impact on product properties due to changes to manufacturing processes, raw materials, or product composition.
• Monitors and evaluates project progress and results to determine improvements needed to meet ultimate objectives.
• Consults with business on commercial programs to ensure adequate technical support.
•  Design or provide support in designing and analyzing animal trials.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Masters or Ph.D. degree in a technical/scientific discipline (biology, chemistry, veterinary, microbiology) and significant relevant experience in an Application or laboratory environment.
• Strong background in and proven success in design and execution of laboratory application development and testing.
• Previous experience on feed/food laboratory and enzyme application (8 years for MsC, 5 years for PhD).
• Proven industry experience with the ability to identify key existing and future customer needs & trends.
• Demonstrates excellent team leadership skills with the ability to coach and motivate.
• Team player and highly effective working within a cross functional team environment.
• Highly self-motivated with effective time management skills and ability to work independently.
• Demonstrated experience in managing change or continuous improvement initiatives.
• Strong interpersonal, teamwork, communication, and collaboration skills.
• Previous supervision experience is preferred.
• Fluent in English (oral and written); Spanish will be an advantage.
